Your Cat Needs Meat
Anyone who is owned by a cat or two (or three ...) knows that cats are obligate carnivores. This simply means that your cat is genetically designed to eat the tissue of other animals in order to thrive. Note that this doesn't say "in order to survive" because, obviously, cats have survived on many varied types of diets depending on what their human slaves believe, can afford and, therefore, feed to their kitties. And while your cat loves to eat animal meat in it's most natural form, they also may eat vegetables, fruits or grains. Still, meat must be the main food for your cat in order for them to get the nutrients they need to "thrive."
For pet owners, there are currently many more options to help you feed your cat a species appropriate diet than there were even five years ago. There are recipes for home made raw and cooked cat foods; there are prepared frozen raw cat foods sold in many pet stores these days; there are freeze dried from raw also now available in most pet specialty stores like PetSmart, PetCo, and the smaller boutique pet stores.
The superior benefits of feeding your cat a raw diet, whether prepared at home or purchased in a store in one of its many forms are numerous! I've listed several below, but, honestly, there are so many benefits that to list them all would take hours.
Benefits of Feeding Raw
The Rad Cat Story
So now that you know what you should be feeding your cat, let me tell you about Rad Cat frozen prepared raw food for cats. First, my Gidget and Nelly just love it! They have been raised on Rad Cat supplemented with Fancy Feast (so I can save a little money). Both of my cats are rescues. Both came to me with horrible cases of feline herpes which causes symptoms similar to a human cold with runny, stuffy nose, horrible eye gunk and drainage, and other upper respiratory symptoms.
Gidget was so sick starting the second week after I brought her home that I turned off my air conditioner (in the middle of May in North Texas), and boiled water to steam up my apartment as well as running a humidifier full-time. I did this for 3 days straight so the poor little thing could breathe! Luckily, after 3 days her symptoms started clearing up with high doses of L-Lysine supplements. And I started feeding her Rad Cat premium raw diet ... exclusively. The turn around in her health was nothing short of miraculous. With two weeks almost all of her respiratory symptoms were gone. By 3 weeks her eyes cleared up completely. She has not had a relapse since!
Gidget and I found Nelly the following January. Nelly came from a different rescue. She was actually inside the store where I purchase my Rad Cat! As I walked by the big cage with the little orange cats, little Nelly poked her foot out and "called" me ... she makes the cutest squeaky noise ... so I, of course had to adopt her on the spot. I also had to buy double the Rad Cat for the week, but that's okay.
Nelly was a little bit healthier when I brought her home than Gidget had been. Nonetheless, I started her right away on our regimen of L-Lysine supplements and a full on Rad Cat diet. She did develop some symptoms of feline herpes, but all of hers were much milder than what Gidget had exhibited. I truly believe it was getting her on the Rad Cat diet from day one, as well as the supplements.
So, as you can see, both kitties are now very happy and healthy. I cannot imagine NOT feeding them their raw food diet. They love the chicken flavor the most, but also like the turkey and the occasional taste of venison. Rad Cat does not add anything to their raw meat cat foods. It is 96% muscle meat and organs with no preservatives, by-products, vegetables, fruits, grains, skin or bones. All of the essential amino acids are in there so you needn't worry whether you cat is getting full and complete nutrition from this awesome cat food.
So, if you've never tried a raw diet for your cat, I highly recommend you do. And the healthiest, easiest way to get them started is with Rad Cat premium raw cat food. Click on the photo below to go to their website and check it out for yourself!
