Thanks for the Star Chaser, Bergan
There has always been some sort of ball-in-a-track toy. Some have scratching pads in the middle, some are open all over, some are enclosed (like the Kong Eight Track which includes catnip) some lie flat on the ground and some come in other shapes like a ball, for example.
My cats have always been sort-of fans of these toys, playing with them on occasion. Not super excited, but a way to cure the boredom for a minute. Enter the Bergan Star Chaser cat toy! Starting at around $12 on Amazon, this toy is affordable entertainment practically guaranteed to entice your cat into some zany playtime. I can (almost) guarantee your cats will love it.
The excitement level of the ball-in-track toy just ramped up times 100 due to the ingenious twinkle ball. This ball-in-a-track has been taken to a whole new level of play for our kitties just by the addition of this amazing little ball. This toy appears, at first glance, to be just like all the other flat ball-in-track toys, with its round track encircling a scratching pad. What makes it unique is the flashing ball. This little ball lights up and flashes when batted by your cat!
The ball itself runs on internal, non-replaceable batteries. Under normal use, the ball should last around 6 months (according to the manufacturer). I have found, however, that with my 2 cats both being in total love with this product, the ball actually lasts about 4 months. Luckily, the sparkle balls are replaceable and can be found on Amazon for about 3 bucks each.
And here’s a super fun idea. Since you can purchase the balls separately, why not have a few on hand AND throw 2 balls into the track for a couple of hours of entertainment for you and your furry friends? My Gidget and Nelly went absolutely gaga when I put a second ball into the game! No longer fighting for position to bat the one ball, they instead seem to have this competition going where they see who can bat the other’s ball out of reach within the track.
The scratching pad in the center is your normal round cardboard scratch pad. When it gets a bit worn on the first side, simply flip it over to get full use out of it. When it is totally scratched to bits, the pad is replaceable. This item can also be found on Amazon for about 6 bucks. You can add an additional layer of craziness to this toy by sprinkling some catnip on the cardboard scratching pad.
Gidget and Nelly both give this toy 4 paws! Get one for your favorite feline today.
